From Monkey to Fly Progress - Wing-Thing Part 07

So I may direct your attention to my Journal "INSPIRATIOOOOOON!!!!!"  There I have told you Guys that I messed my Mojo Jojo Cosplay. I broke the Mask, the Faceplate was ripped of and the upper Dome was dented... unusable for Mojo... BUT salvagable for a totally different Cosplay. Well I could have put it back together but thatr would have used to much Material and would have made his face look uneven and more like a freshly beaten up Mojo. But using it to make Nickelodeons Baxter Stockmans Fly Face  was perfect since I need to stuck so much stuff on it which is supposed to look twisted and mutated so it wouldnt matter. But Ill continue the Face Progress when the Face is stable again... WHICH IS NOW!

What is this? Open your Eyes dammit! Its a backpack... sorry couldnt resist making a stupid Joke. But what will it become?  Well thats easy, it will become Part of the Wing assembly! I think I told you guys somewhere already that I once tried to make an 80s Baxter Stockman Costume which I messed up. But I always kept the Frame for the Wings and Now I can use them for this Baxter. But this Mutation is a little freakier and his wings dont just pint out from rips in his Shirt... This Baxter has a deranged and Mutated Back. Including some kind of Wing-Root (for a lack of a better word), which is actually better for making something to attach the Wings on. So now I will Cut the Backpack apart and attach the Wing-Root Mutated back Thingy ... keep watching...

So the First step was attaching the Base Frame for the Wings... just some Cardboard cutouts taped and stitched onto what is left of the Backpack. Ande here is the finished Frame with a lot of Tape. well as long as it stays together until tomorrow where I will start coating it in Paper Mache.

DONE!

There you see its coated in Paper Mache, 3 layers and hard as a Rock... perfect. And as you can see below there are the Wire Frames for the Wings. I may have mentioned it before that I once tried to make an 80s Baxter Stockman and for that I bought some Costume Angel Wings, ripped of the feathers and stuff and bend the Wires, pretty sturdy Wires, into Shape to be Fly Wings. But I messed that Costume up so I couldnt do 80s Baxter. But I went through too much work and Pain (yes actual Pain, that wire was pretty darn tough) to just throw the Wings out so I kept them. And good thing I did. First I tried to put the Wings into some stockings to make em look like actual Wings but It didnt work out but then my Grandmother had a good Idea. Well I admit I was sceptical, I didnt think it would work. She bought some plain white almost transparend Window Drapes, cut out the Wings and stitched that and the Wires together. It worked, I was wrong so sue me. Well now Im waiting for her to get the Wings finished.
Which is now. The Wings look good. Thanks to my Grandma! Aftr she finished the Wings I got a Gel Pen to draw on the Veines on the Wings and they  stand out so niceley and veiny? Oh well it looks good!

So I cut open the Backpack on the stumps with a really thin cut. I wedged in the Wings and the overhanging rest of the Drapes. on the other side of the Backpack was a Zipper with a former little bag which I cut out. So I can reach the Inside of the Backpack through it. I pullt the overhanging stuff through, tied a knot and the Wings are tightly attached! But I secured them additionally with the Gel Pen I bought. So now I have painted the Backpack so it looks like the skin on the arm and Face, Complete Succsess! The Wings themselves are FINISHED! BUT! But there are some minor Details that still need some work, I mean Baxter got quite the Outfit...
